This week for player bio’s I am going to talk about our goalie named Colton. Colton lives in Arroyo Grande and drives down every Monday and Wednesday for practice. Colton is about 5’10”-5’11” and is the biggest person on our team. Since he is so tall, he is able to catch those high cross that everyone can’t header. Here is a couple photos of him in action.
So there are a couple of photos of Colton. Like I said, he can get up and get the balls that no one can header. He is a fantastic goalie and is really funny. I don’t know what the team would do without him. He is basically the backbone of the team and gets everyone fired up so we can go win our games. He is the captain for our team alongside Owen Lambe who I have talked about previously. Owen is now back from his injury and his finishing up with the high school, they are going to play their first game on tuesday March 8, 2016. Back to Colton though, Colton has done great with our team and has gained a lot of chemistry with other team mates. Which means that he has gotten to know the playing styles of almost all the players on the team. With nationals coming up he is making people push to be there best and stronger for the upcoming games.
This weekend we are heading to Las Vegas for another showcase, and we will see how he does. I believe he will do great and the college scouts that should be coming will find him really good. I forgot to mention one thing why he is really good with his hands, is because he plays basketball instead of soccer for his high school. I am not entirely sure why he chose to play basketball over soccer, I think it was because he wanted a break from soccer because he was also trying out for the ODP team (Olympic Development Program). So to put an end to this player bio, I was wondering who the backbone/foothold of your team is and if they do a good job being a leader. Leave a comment down below and like.
