Nationals

IMG_4743This week I am sad to say that we are out of Nationals, but some good news is that I will continue to write posts on my blog. With that I will talk about how Nationals went. First off, we got a first round buy because we won our league. With that buy, we also ended up getting some of the hardest teams, and during the games we got some of the worst referees. Some of the referees would see a call that was the most obvious call in the world and wouldn’t call it. For example, there was a foul inside of the box and it was probably the most obvious call in the world, and the referee didn’t even call it. My coach started screaming at the ref, but nothing happened, and the ref acted like he didn’t even see it. Besides that, most everyone got a chance to play accept for Jose Reyes. I am not sure why he didn’t play but on the bright side he got recruited for the Olympic Development Program (ODP). IMG_4710About ODP, several other people from our team also got recruited such as Saul Sosa, Martin Melero, Owen Lambe, Colton Theaker, and that was all that I knew. It was cool to see that all those players were asked to try out. Owen told me that most of the time most teams don’t have that many players get asked to try out for ODP. I will be very happy to see how far they go, because there are several try outs. Anyways, back to Nationals, there was one team in our bracket called surf and they’re from San Diego, but every time we have played against a team with that name, we have lost to them. This loosing streak has been going on for two years now, and we call it the surf curse. I know it seams like we had a short season and didn’t do very well, but we did because we won Premier and got a first round buy.
